Tits up!

So, I just finished watching a show I've been recently obsessing over - The Marvellous Mrs Maisel. The ending was so bittersweet, I always cry at the end of each show I watch but this one just hit different. I'm also a sucker any show set or made in the 50s/60s, mostly because of the fashion, which this show had a lot of. I have so much to say about it, so much emotion that I need to express, and yet, I'm speechless.

The creator of this show holds a special place in my heart - Amy Sherman-Palladino - a fucking genius. She was also responsible for Gilmore Girls - another show I absolutely love, one I probably couldn't live without. So calling this woman a genius necessity. Not to mention, that one of the episodes of Mrs Maisel has multiple actors from Gilmore Girls, which made me literally jump out of my seat and immediately tell mother who also loves Gilmore Girls. Crossovers like that are what made me love this show even more (even though its what during the last season, so lets be really I was already in it for the long run).

The plot of this show never once disappointed me, but it did put me through a rollercoaster of emotions, name it, I probably felt it, anger, joy, sadness, I'm pretty sure the writer contacted all the characters from Inside Out. Either way, I don't think I've ever laughed so much while watching a show, which would make sense, the main character is literally a comedienne.

Mrs Maisel always has this poise about her, of course she comes from a somewhat wealthy family, but even when telling crude jokes she stands straight and looks prim and proper, has this way about her, so classy. Needless to say, Rachel Brosnahan did a marvellous job with her character.

Last but not least, I'd like to mention Midge's and Suzie's friendship, one that is so perfectly captured, with its ups and downs and betrayals and sacrifices. I mean, they're just the perfect partners, not to mention the show ending. I love show the whole things ends with a chat between two lifelong friends in their old age.

I will recommend this show to anyone who listens, and anyone who doesn't.

Thank you and goodnight.

Love,

- J
